[They're both stuck in a situation that is less than ideal. It's not like little Sougo wanted to spend a day with Hijikata after he got a stupid haircut. Suddenly, he whines a little bit, dropping one of his sandwiches as he clutches his stomach.]

Ugh...h-hey!

[There's no other choice than to tell Hijikata that he ate too fast and upset his tummy, but he doesn't want to show that weakness in front of him!]

[It's easy enough to tell what happened. Great.]

I told you not to eat too fast. Now your stomach hurts, right?

[He sighs as he takes the one half-eaten sandwich from him and picks the other one off his lap. He'll put these away for later.]

Do you want to lie down?

[Right now, he's a little kid who can't control himself! But given that Hijikata is the only adult right now, he's the only one who can help him here. He sadly nods while rubbing his tummy. In a little bit, he'll try to get up on the bench because he does want to lie down and rest. Hijikata won't get a word out of him right now, at least.]

[He helps Sougo up and makes space on his lap so he can rest his head there. He didn't pick up his coat at any point, so Sougo has a somewhat softened resting spot on the bench if nothing else. Maybe if he doesn't say anything Sougo won't say anything either, and they can have a little truce for the moment.]
