[scrambles to press his hand against the two small wounds in your neck and take your pulse]

[You must have really been angry at him, because you took so much of his blood. His body may have been warm, but he'll start to get colder soon and his pulse weakens...

However, he can't respond to your voice at all. It's like he can't hear anything. He feels like he's in a deep drunken daze and can barely move. His mind is blank. All he sees is are the stars starting to come out. Those are the only lights reflected in his eyes, now glazed over, as all he can do is stare and stare...]

[he was pissed off as hell, but that's not why he drank so much - he was just desperately hungry, being a new vampire and never having fed before]

[he's totally frantic, trying to stop the bleeding and to get a reaction form you, or at least for your eyes to focus on him]

[the last thing you feel is probably a pair of strong, warm arms cradling you as your commander picks you up to hurry you away to a siren-and-lights ride to the hospital]

[meanwhile he's getting held back by several of the captains, and he's too frantic now to think of transforming into anything so he can follow]

[everyone including him is shouting over each other, and the men's horrified expressions tell him that this time he really, truly screwed up]

[Sougo is so relieved to finally be making it back to headquarters. Hospitals bring back bad memories. He'd rather not stay in them longer than necessary, so he was a surprisingly compliant patient. Well, not that he was conscious for some of the time.

Kondou-san had arranged to pick him up in a Shinsengumi car, and Sougo was happy inside that he'll get to spend some time with him, without that dumb Hijikata. Not that Hijikata even bothered to visit him anyways. Bastard.

Getting back to headquarters was annoying. All the eyes of the rest of the Shinsengumi on him when he really just wanted to be alone for now. They kept asking about the bandage on his arm, the bruise behind it, the two marks on his neck. He shrugged their questions off like it was no big deal. Eventually, he was alone in his room for now. He took his red sleeping mask out of his kimono sleeve, and put it on, ready to take an afternoon nap. He can at least pretend that was normal.]

[That night Kondou had come back to the headquarters after midnight, having not only waited for confirmation that Sougo was in a stable condition but stayed at his bedside for hours afterwards. As soon as he had come back, though, he had sat Hijikata down and asked him what happened. The expression on his face had shown that he could hardly believe that Hijikata really hurt Sougo so badly, and it had made the guilt so much worse, even as Hijikata explained.]

[Due to his new nocturnal life he was unable to visit Sougo afterwards, which Kondou promised to explain to him, though Hijikata didn't expect it to make much of a difference. If anything Sougo would be happy not to see him in a place where he could neither attack or evade him. Kondou made him promise, however, to apologise to Sougo as soon as he could return home. So now Hijikata is standing at his door, dreading the confrontation but knowing he can't avoid it. So he gently knocks.]

Sougo?

[Sougo was just about to doze off when he hears...that voice so rudely bringing him back to reality. He doesn't want to talk or even face Hijikata right now. Not when he just got out of that damn hospital and back into his own bed.

He curls up more into his futon, trying to make soft snoring noises. Hopefully that will make Hijikata go the fuck away.]

Sougo, I'm coming in.

[He gently slides the door open and sticks his head into Sougo's room. Looks like he's asleep... Hijikata should just leave and come back later, but instead he steps inside and kneels down by his bedside, leaving the door open to not make Sougo feel trapped in case he wakes up. He very carefully bends the collar of his sleepwear down. There they are, the bite marks. Hijikata can only hope that they will heal.]

[Shit. He came in anyway. Stupid Hijikata, he can't even respect that Sougo is sleeping! Sougo continues with the charade, still lightly snoring. Hopefully that will make Hijikata go away. He was about to mutter something in his "sleep" about killing him, when he hears Hijikata beside him

That's a sign to snap his eyes awake because Hijikata really doesn't know when to stop, does he? He already pushed himself to take Sougo's blood, and now he won't even leave the sleeping sadist alone. He quickly grabs Hijikata's wrist as soon as he feels the hand close to his neck.]

Get out.
