[He begins to make his way to the kitchen (he actually will throw away all the mayo and he's not afraid) when...huh, there's an annoying bat. He's going to swipe at it to go away. Luckily for you, Sougo's not as sadistic with animals as he is with humans.]
He takes the bazooka back from your face. He looks displeased, even though like usual, his expressions aren't too pronounced. But his mouth curls more than usual, like he's pouting.]
It's not fun trying to kill you when you wanna be killed. Could be funner to see you live without your dog shit.
[Could it be he doesn't actually want to kill you for real? Yeah no. It's just boring without the challenge.]
You really are a goddamn sadist! Who would wish this kind of life on anyone?!
[tries hard to bounce back from this by forcing himself to focus on the overall objective, pacing around in circles]
Alright... I won't be able to go on patrol during the day anymore. That's fine, I'll just always take the night shift. I'll also take care of all the reports and official documents at night.
[that should mean that fewer people will come to his room and bother him]
[maybe this isn't all bad]
We usually carry out raids after nightfall too, so I can still lead those with Kondou-san.
Not everyone has a hard-on for mayo like you do, Hijikata-san.
[You're rambling on and on and it's in one ear and out the other with Sougo. Why are you so boring? Since you seem to be absorbed in your thinking, he'll subtly put his foot a little in your way so you trip over it.]
A loud THUD from two bodies hitting the floor doesn't sound good, and the fall didn't feel good either. The bazooka topples over beside him. As dizzy as he is though, he tries lifts his legs to try and kick you off him.]
[What the actual fuck?! He wasn't expecting this. Not at all. And now you're trying to...go for his neck? He struggles underneath your grip, trying to turn his head away.]
Get off me!
[Luckily, you didn't restrain his hands. He balls his right fist, and that's going straight to your crotch area. If it hits, he'll try and headbutt you next.]
[His attacks didn't do a thing?! He's shocked, but not enough to stop him from acting. He claws at your hands clamping his wrists and he tries to go for a headbutt again. The adrenaline is keeping him from feeling the pain.]
He keeps struggling up until you sink your fangs into him. At that point, he really wants to keep fighting, but he can't. Sougo feels his entire body going numb; his wrists and legs go limp. It should hurt and you, of all people, are preying on him and he hates it, he hates it so much, but there's a certain high to this feeling. His eyes start to glaze over and he can only gaze at the shifting colors of the sky growing darker--
And that's at the moment where he hears a hurried footsteps and Kamiyama yelling about...something, but he doesn't have the strength to move his head around.]
[when he hears your subordinate's shouting he snaps around to glare at him - how dare he interrupt his meal (and why does he sound so heartbroken)? -, and as the poor man sees his bloody snarl he screams and takes off]
[goes back to drinking a little more, but he knows he can't take much longer now]
[as he's crouching there, staining your sleeve with his lips and chin, the bloodlust fades away and he slowly realises what the hell he just did]
...
S-Sougo..?
[SHIT]
Sougo!!
[shit shit shit]
[you're the daily bane of his existence and too strong to ever be disciplined for all your bullshit, and now you're lying there like a doll someone threw away, and it's making him freak out]
[scrambles to press his hand against the two small wounds in your neck and take your pulse]
[You must have really been angry at him, because you took so much of his blood. His body may have been warm, but he'll start to get colder soon and his pulse weakens...
However, he can't respond to your voice at all. It's like he can't hear anything. He feels like he's in a deep drunken daze and can barely move. His mind is blank. All he sees is are the stars starting to come out. Those are the only lights reflected in his eyes, now glazed over, as all he can do is stare and stare...]
However, your cries won't reach him. Even if he could, he's hanging onto consciousness by a thread now. Even in his fiercest fights, he's never lost this much blood.
He's dead (???), Jim. At least the stars are nice...]
[the last thing you feel is probably a pair of strong, warm arms cradling you as your commander picks you up to hurry you away to a siren-and-lights ride to the hospital]
[meanwhile he's getting held back by several of the captains, and he's too frantic now to think of transforming into anything so he can follow]
[everyone including him is shouting over each other, and the men's horrified expressions tell him that this time he really, truly screwed up]
[Sougo is so relieved to finally be making it back to headquarters. Hospitals bring back bad memories. He'd rather not stay in them longer than necessary, so he was a surprisingly compliant patient. Well, not that he was conscious for some of the time.
Kondou-san had arranged to pick him up in a Shinsengumi car, and Sougo was happy inside that he'll get to spend some time with him, without that dumb Hijikata. Not that Hijikata even bothered to visit him anyways. Bastard.
Getting back to headquarters was annoying. All the eyes of the rest of the Shinsengumi on him when he really just wanted to be alone for now. They kept asking about the bandage on his arm, the bruise behind it, the two marks on his neck. He shrugged their questions off like it was no big deal. Eventually, he was alone in his room for now. He took his red sleeping mask out of his kimono sleeve, and put it on, ready to take an afternoon nap. He can at least pretend that was normal.]
Let me just change my [actions] style in the middle of the thread
[That night Kondou had come back to the headquarters after midnight, having not only waited for confirmation that Sougo was in a stable condition but stayed at his bedside for hours afterwards. As soon as he had come back, though, he had sat Hijikata down and asked him what happened. The expression on his face had shown that he could hardly believe that Hijikata really hurt Sougo so badly, and it had made the guilt so much worse, even as Hijikata explained.]
[Due to his new nocturnal life he was unable to visit Sougo afterwards, which Kondou promised to explain to him, though Hijikata didn't expect it to make much of a difference. If anything Sougo would be happy not to see him in a place where he could neither attack or evade him. Kondou made him promise, however, to apologise to Sougo as soon as he could return home. So now Hijikata is standing at his door, dreading the confrontation but knowing he can't avoid it. So he gently knocks.]
[Sougo was just about to doze off when he hears...that voice so rudely bringing him back to reality. He doesn't want to talk or even face Hijikata right now. Not when he just got out of that damn hospital and back into his own bed.
He curls up more into his futon, trying to make soft snoring noises. Hopefully that will make Hijikata go the fuck away.]
[He gently slides the door open and sticks his head into Sougo's room. Looks like he's asleep... Hijikata should just leave and come back later, but instead he steps inside and kneels down by his bedside, leaving the door open to not make Sougo feel trapped in case he wakes up. He very carefully bends the collar of his sleepwear down. There they are, the bite marks. Hijikata can only hope that they will heal.]
[Shit. He came in anyway. Stupid Hijikata, he can't even respect that Sougo is sleeping! Sougo continues with the charade, still lightly snoring. Hopefully that will make Hijikata go away. He was about to mutter something in his "sleep" about killing him, when he hears Hijikata beside him
That's a sign to snap his eyes awake because Hijikata really doesn't know when to stop, does he? He already pushed himself to take Sougo's blood, and now he won't even leave the sleeping sadist alone. He quickly grabs Hijikata's wrist as soon as he feels the hand close to his neck.]
[He jolts a little as his wrist is grabbed, but he should have known. Sougo often pretends to be asleep when he doesn't want to deal with something.]
I wanted to check on you.
[He should apologise, but even though he's fully at fault for what happened it's hard to say the words, especially knowing that Sougo will most likely shoot him down.]
[It's not even that he doesn't want to deal with something. He just got back from the hospital and he's tired. Guess whose fault that is.]
I'm fine. Now get out.
[This is a real threat this time. His voice still sounds as calm as it usually does, but he's not kidding. He lets go of Hijikata's wrist so he can make his exist, but Sougo won't be as kind next time. Haven't you done enough?]
[Sougo won't even reply. Hijikata right now, isn't worthy of any replies from him. This guy always shows up and thinks he can butt into everything. And now, all Sougo wanted to be was alone. Even though he didn't mind being with Kondou, he wants to rest, to forget about everything. He further sinks into his blanket and turns over to face away from the entrance.
As much as Sougo always tried to kill Hijikata, there was a certain amount of trust the sadist had in the vice-chief. Sure, Sougo always says he's the worst, but they're comrades, their bond forged through years of just being stuck with each other. Hijikata has proven his worth to Sougo many times: Hijikata had confronted Mitsuba's fiancee by himself for the sake of both the Okita siblings. Hijikata had stuck by Sougo even in a Death Game (while fake, it still counts for something). As much as Hijikata would yell and bitch at Sougo, Sougo thought Hijikata would never mean to seriously hurt him. Guess he thought wrong.]
[Hijikata quietly closes the door behind him. He stays on the veranda for a moment and takes a deep breath - muscle memory, like so many things. He doesn't really need to breathe anymore, does he? He takes out his mayonnaise bottle lighter and cigarettes (his body doesn't really need this anymore either, but his mind does). For him it's still early; his work shift only just started... but he can tell that he'll have trouble focusing tonight. For as much of a pain in the ass as Sougo is to deal with on a daily (now nightly) basis, for as many times as Hijikata yelled and screamed at him in total infuriation, for as often as Sougo fired that goddamn bazooka at him, Hijikata just should not have done that to him.]
[Hijikata steered clear from Sougo afterwards, but since he promised Kondou to apologise to him he decided to write him a letter. It was difficult for him to sit down and try to put his sincere feelings into words. Sougo was the last person he ever thought he would write such a letter to. It took him three nights to contemplate, and in the end it came out as barely a shot note which he slid underneath the door of Sougo's room.]
Sougo,
I know no apology will be enough to undo what I did. If you want me to stay away from you I accept that. If there is anything I can do for you, let me know.
Hijikata
P.S: Don't tell me to die, I'm already undead.
[He doesn't really expect a response that isn't another assassination attempt - unless Sougo now hates him so much that he doesn't even want his blood on his hands anymore. This thought should bring him relief, but instead it makes his heart feel heavy and occupies his mind as he returns the the headquarters from his usual nightfall trip to one of the butchers who agreed to supply the Shinsengumi with surplus blood for the "blood-drinking Amanto" they are "keeping in long-term custody".]

Will you stop it!! Did you even listen to me? Leave the mayonnaise alone!

[He certainly doesn't sound sad. And now the opening of the bazooka is literally in front of your face, like he's trying to put your head inside.]
Can vampires even eat mayonnaise?

What the hell?! Why can't you just stand?!

You are the bastard! Why are you such a pain in the ass?!
[he really should just teach you a lesson]
[grabs your jaw, tilts your head back, and bares his fangs]
Having a little less blood to run on should calm you down for a while.

[okay, yeah, that hits, both the dick punch and the headbutt]
[growls a little and draws back, shifting his legs to keep both of yours pinned, and tries to grab your wrists to pin them down too]
Don't be stubborn! The less you struggle the less it'll hurt.
[he wants your blood, damn it, he's starving]
[his crotch and forehead hurt quite a lot, but not enough to put him out of commission]
